An introduction to GO, the ‘surrounding game’.
Most people who learn GO learn incrementally through pattern recognition. Quite valid. Takes a lot of time.
A more intuitive way to learn, is to learn beyond the edge of one’s understanding.
This introduction to the game provides heuristics for good shape and influence, stabilising a mid-level play, and inviting an open game.
It is not about winning and losing. It is about playing well, providing the other with puzzles to solve, inviting the best game possible between you and your partner.
Learned in this way, the game is an enjoyable exploration.
